Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Postal Media, the maker of Content, and a business name registered in Nova Scotia, Canada. They cover the app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Android. By downloading or using Content you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. What the app does with information is described separately, in the Privacy Policy.

The short version

Content is free. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. What you put in it is yours. The information it shows comes from other people's catalogues and can be wrong or out of date. Please don't misuse the small service the app relies on. The app is provided as it is, and nothing here takes away rights the law gives you where you live.

Your licence to use Content

Postal Media gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Content on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. On Apple devices, this is also subject to the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms. On Android, it is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute the app;
  • modify, decompile or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this despite these terms;
  • extract the keys, addresses or data built into it; or
  • use it to build a competing catalogue or database.

Content and its design, code, text and artwork belong to Postal Media, apart from the material described in Other people's information and services below. These terms give you no rights to Postal Media's names, logos or trademarks.

What you put in Content

Your library, lists, notes, ratings and everything else you add stay yours. We don't receive them, as the Privacy Policy explains, so we claim no rights over them.

When you share something (a Shared Library, a shared list or file, or a link to a title), you choose who sees it. You are responsible for what you share and with whom, including the name you give as the sender. Please don't use sharing to send anything unlawful, abusive or that isn't yours to share.

When you import a file from another app, it should be your own export, or one you have the right to use.

Other people's information and services

Content doesn't hold a catalogue of its own. The titles, descriptions, artwork, cast, release and air dates, streaming availability, links and ratings it shows come from other services. These include The Movie Database (TMDB), JustWatch, Open Library, IGDB, Apple, MusicBrainz, Wikidata and Odesli. They are credited in the app under Settings › About.

  • It can be wrong. That information belongs to those services and their contributors, and we don't check it. A release date can move, a show can leave a streaming service, and a cover can belong to another edition. Treat what Content shows as a helpful guide, not a guarantee.
  • Their terms apply to them. When the app opens another app or website, such as a streaming service, a store, YouTube, a podcast app or a music service, you are using that service under its own terms. We aren't responsible for it, and a link is not an endorsement.
  • Names and logos are theirs. Film, show, book, game, album and service names, artwork and logos belong to their owners. They are shown only to identify the titles and services they belong to. No endorsement is implied.
  • TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
  • Open-source parts. Some parts of the app are open-source software or openly licensed artwork, used under their own licences. They are credited in the app under Settings › About.

A service Content depends on can change or stop what it offers at any time. If that happens, the part of the app that relies on it may stop working.

Using the app fairly

The app relies on a small service of ours, and on the public services above, all of which limit how much they can be asked. Please don't:

  • use the app, or anything taken from it, to query those services automatically, in bulk, or outside the app;
  • try to get around their limits or our service's protections; or
  • do anything that interferes with them or with other people's use of Content.

Reminders and notifications

Release reminders, next-season reminders and calendar events depend on dates supplied by other services, and on your device delivering the notification. We try hard to get them right, but they can be late, early or missed. Please don't rely on them for anything important.

Your data and backups

Your library is kept on your device, and wherever you choose to sync or back it up: iCloud on Apple devices, and your Google backup on Android. Those services work under their own terms. We can't see your data, so we can't recover it for you. Export a copy now and then (Settings › Import & Export) if it matters to you.

Changes to the app

We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering Content. We are not obliged to provide updates or support. We do read help@postalmedia.io, and we will try to help.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, Content is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. This includes, without limitation, any warranty that it will work without interruption or error, that the information it shows is accurate or complete, or that it will suit a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Postal Media is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of Content, or from your inability to use it. This includes lost data, missed releases, or decisions made on information the app showed. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.

Your rights under the law

Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement. If the consumer protection law where you live, such as Québec's Consumer Protection Act, does not permit any part of the two sections above, that part does not apply to you.

Ending this agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting Content from your devices. Your licence ends automatically if you break these terms. The sections on other people's information, no warranty, limitation of liability, your rights under the law, and governing law continue to apply after it ends.

If you got Content from Apple's App Store

These additional terms apply between you and Postal Media:

  • This agreement is between you and Postal Media only, not Apple. Postal Media, not Apple, is solely responsible for Content and its contents.
  • Your licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms. Content may also be accessed by other accounts in your Family Sharing group or through volume purchasing, as those rules allow.
  • Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support for Content.
  • If Content fails to conform to any warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Content. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are Postal Media's responsibility, to the extent these terms do not disclaim them.
  • Postal Media, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Content or your use of it. This includes product liability claims, any claim that Content fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims that Content or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Postal Media, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • When you use Content, you must comply with the terms of any third-party services you use with it.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

If you got Content from Google Play

Your download is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the date at the top changes, and the current version is always at this address. If you keep using Content after a change, you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will also mention it in the app's release notes.
